The presenters will discuss how good self-care and social companionship are essential for overall health, especially for those aging in place. The discussion will identify signs of isolation among family and friends and show how quality companionship and “friendly visiting” is vital to supporting physical health, emotional well-being, cognitive engagement, and dignity; ensuring individuals are safe, connected, valued and able to thrive as they age in their homes and communities.
Luke Roeschley is a Licensed Social Worker with a master's degree in social work, proudly serving in the state of Illinois. Over the past 13 years, Luke has devoted himself to the non-profit sector in the Midwest, making significant contributions in social work, marketing, and program development. His passion for fostering connections with diverse populations has led him to work closely with older adults in various residential settings, where he has had the privilege of crafting and improving tailored programs to meet unique needs. Luke is the Director of Senior Connections at Chicago Methodist Senior Services (CMSS).
Chuck Glass is an accomplished health and human services administrator with more than 15 years of experience. A successful operational leader, Chuck prides himself on delivering the highest level of person-centered services and he exceeds expectations in quality assurance and compliance. Chuck was the caregiver for his late mother who lived with dementia. Chuck holds a Master of Science in Health Professions Education. Chuck is the Director of SASI Home Care at Chicago Methodist Senior Services (CMSS).
